Japan Focus is a peer-reviewed online journal focusing on the politics, modern history and society of the Asia-Pacific Region and Japan. I became an associate of the journal in the summer of 2007. To me the best thing about the journal is that it makes recent articles by leading researchers of Japan and the Asia-Pacific Region available completely open access on the internet. This makes it a fabulous teaching resource and on other pages (see the site map) I have prepared reading lists of Japan Focus articles aimed at students in my university classes on War and Memory in Japan and Modern Japanese History. Below is a list of my own contributions to Japan Focus, as author, translator and editor.
5) Forthcoming Article Series (as editor): Alternative Summits, Alternative Perspectives: Beyond the G8 Summit. 4) Translation: Makoto Kawazoe and Makoto Yuasa (2008) 'Action Against Poverty: Japan's Working Poor Under Attack'. 3) Article: 'Vietnam and Iraq in Japan: Japanese and American Grassroots Peace Activism' (2008). 2) Article: 'Family, Friends and Furusato: "Home" in the formation of Japanese war memories' (2007). 1) Translation: Tetsuya Takahashi (2006) 'The national politics of the Yasukuni Shrine'. |
